CloudPRO calculator

For those who want a customized offer from the beginning, we have prepared a simple option for setting up your environment in the form of a configuration calculator.

CloudPRO service

CloudPRO is a cloud solution we offer to business customers in need of a flexible and dynamic IT infrastructure. The CloudPRO cloud solution is technologically built on the OpenStack platform. The cloud platform is based on reliable, high-performance DELL and HPE servers. The servers are operated from two independent and completely separate cloud platforms at our Digitalis and SHC3 data centres.

We use disk arrays made by DELL EMC, the absolute leader in this field, for our cloud service data storage. With the DELL EMC solution, your data is safe and always available. Our cloud services are based on a KVM hypervisor fully manageable from the OpenStack environment. We run our own services in our cloud environment as we fully trust it.

VM backup

CloudPRO includes a VM backup option. With this service, users can easily define backup policies for VMs and entire projects in CloudPRO, taking into account the target RTO/RPO, and just as easily recover data if needed.

Cloud Backup is built on technology from Trilio Vault, the leading IT solution provider. VM backups are automatically billed according to actual disk space used and the number of VMs backed up. The integration of service management into the CloudPRO web user interface offers the undeniable advantage of allowing you to manage cloud services and backup policies from one place.

Trust us. Just like the others.

You will be in great company.

Anycast
as a Service

VNET, as the only provider in Slovakia, offers Anycast as a Service at a true enterprise-grade level. Anycast as a Service allows the customer to operate 2 independent cloud environments from 2 geographically redundant data centers with the same public IP address using the BGP protocol.

We emphasize that these two environments do not share components by the nature of the service. In practice, this means that the load balancer operates in an active-active mode. In the event of a failure or reduced availability of services in one data center, using the Anycast service allows for additional resource scaling, which is immediately ready to step in as a backup solution from the second data center environment, which will fully replace the primary environment, or at least ensure the full functionality of mission-critical applications until recovery according to RTO/RPO. In reality, this provides top-notch stability and reliability, which is not just an empty phrase but is backed by already implemented and tested technological solutions.

7 practical examples of why it’s worth using cloud services instead of own infrastructure:

  1. Reduction of IT Infrastructure Costs

A company operating its own servers must continuously invest in hardware, cooling, energy, and regular maintenance. By transitioning to cloud services, these costs decrease significantly. You only pay for the capacity you currently need, without large upfront investments in hardware and expensive service interventions.

  2. Scalability Flexibility

Imagine an e-commerce site experiencing a surge in traffic during the holiday season. With its own infrastructure, it would need to purchase high-performance hardware that would remain unused off-season. Cloud services allow it to flexibly adjust capacity as needed—boosting computing power during peak times and scaling it back down after the holidays.

  3. Faster Deployment of New Applications

A startup developing mobile applications needs to quickly test and deploy new versions. Own infrastructure would require time-consuming installation and configuration of servers. In the cloud, it can launch a new environment in just a few minutes, speeding up development and product time-to-market.

  4. Data Security and Backup

A financial company processing sensitive client data faces the risk of cyberattacks. Maintaining its own security solution is costly and requires constant monitoring. Cloud services offer advanced encryption, DDoS attack protection, and automated backups, reducing the risk of data loss and enhancing security.

  5. Mobility and Remote Work

When a team is spread across various countries, all members need access to the same tools and data. The cloud allows employees to access corporate systems and files from anywhere with an internet connection. This significantly increases productivity and collaboration regardless of employees’ physical locations.

  6. Disaster Recovery

A company faced an outage of its own data center due to a natural disaster. With physical infrastructure, recovery could take several days to weeks. In the cloud, the recovery process is much faster—backups and data are stored in secure data centers, allowing for quick restoration in case of a failure and minimizing downtime.

  7. Lower Risk of Technology Obsolescence

IT technologies evolve rapidly. A company investing in its own hardware risks its devices becoming obsolete and requiring costly upgrades. Cloud services eliminate this problem, as the cloud provider regularly modernizes infrastructure, ensuring clients benefit from the latest technologies without further investments.

Each of these examples illustrates how cloud services offer flexibility, savings, and security that are often difficult to achieve with own infrastructure. For companies, this means the opportunity to focus on growth and innovation while technical solutions are left to cloud professionals.

Where can the advantages of cloud solutions be applied?

SW / IT company

The main advantage of cloud services for the IT segment is the ability to test and develop SW/applications in the cloud, where you can instantly adapt computing resources to your needs. At the same time, the ability to access shared development platform from anywhere in the world lets you efficiently manage IT resources.

Branches/stores network

There is no simpler solution than access to corporate shared data and systems via the cloud. Any branch and people anywhere in the world can access systems such as warehouse management, ERP, CRM, and document sharing. The main benefit of operating your services from our cloud is the high availability of systems and data, security, high-quality connectivity and high-quality electricity supply. Of course, the service includes 24-hour surveillance of cloud technology.

Part of everyday business

The number of companies using cloud services is growing daily. Accounting, ERP, CRM, e-mail services, database services, testing, development, backup, and disaster recovery are systems, applications and SW that work successfully in the cloud. If you are considering changing your existing server solution or buying a new one, or perhaps buying or changing SW/applications, we think it is the right time to move to the cloud.

E-shop / portal solutions

At a certain stage in the development of your e-shop or web portal, migration from traditional hosting services to a more powerful server solution is required. It is important for your business to provide users with convenience year-round when visiting your e-shop or web portal. The cloud offers you instant flexibility and dynamics in managing necessary computing resources for your business. You will no longer share performance with other hosting servers, because through the cloud, you have guaranteed performance parameters for virtual or physical environments (IaaS).

IPv6 seriál: adresácia

Neviem ako si na svoj prvýkrát spomínate vy, ale keď som sa ja pozrel prvýkrát na IPv6 adresu, zostal som celkom zhrozený a v obavách. Adresy zrazu obsahovali písmená a boli podstatne dlhšie. Pomyslel som si, že robiť nejaký subnetting bez chyby, nemýliť sa v zápisoch a podobne, je nemožné.
